Treating Addiction with Acupuncture

Our country is experiencing an opioid addiction crises. More people died from opioid overdose in 2016 an died in the entire Vietnam war. This is to me an amazingly dire statistic. Many if not most addiction clinics worldwide use acupuncture to help their patients. There is a specific set of points called the NADA protocol. NADA is the acronym for the National Acupuncture Detoxification Association and it consists of 5 points in the ear. We use this protocol for our addiction patients along with other points in the hands and feet. Of course any type of addiction can be treated in this way including smoking addiction.
